While both Exion and Morpheus8 are radiofrequency microneedling treatments used for skin rejuvenation, the main difference lies in their experience and effectiveness. Exion uses monopolar RF technology, while Morpheus8 utilizes fractional bipolar RF, allowing Exion to offer more customizable treatment depths.

 The heat generated by Exion’s monopolar RF is stronger and can reach deeper into the skin’s subdermal layers compared to Morpheus8. This is important when it comes to patient comfort. Morpheu8 is notoriously painful, with many patients not being able to complete a treatment package even with numbing or Pronox. Morpheus8 penetrates down 7mm into the skin, whereas Exion’s needles penetrate up to 4mm, just above the skin’s pain receptors, but then is able to shoot the RF energy down to 8mm, making the depth more than Morpheus8.

Unlike Morpheus8, Exion uses a single-pass method, delivering RF energy beyond the needle tip without additional puncturing, and its AI-driven technology ensures more precise energy delivery. This results in fewer treatment sessions with faster and more dramatic results than Morpheus8.This makes Exion ideal for treating deeper skin concerns, such as uneven texture, scars, and wrinkles, with more patient comfort.

Another standout feature of Exion is its ability to boost hyaluronic acid production by 224%, enhancing skin hydration and giving it a plumper, healthier appearance—something Morpheus8 cannot offer.

For Exion RF Microneedling and Clear RF, a complete treatment is 3 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

For Exion Face, a complete treatment is 4 sessions, spaced 1 week apart.

Based on the severity of your concern, more sessions may be needed to reach your desired result.

Avoid the following a week before your treatment:

• Blood thinners (advil, aleve, motrin, ibuprofen, aspirin, excedrin)
• Sun tanning/burning (two weeks before)
• Fish oil and omega 3’s
• Retinols, retinoids
• Exfoliating (chemical or physical)

Avoid day before:

• Alcohol

Please come with a clean face without makeup or lotions/serums if you can.

Some people may see changes in their skin after one treatment, but expect to see full results 3 months after your last treatment.

A big consideration when bringing on Exion was the fact that there is little to no downtime depending on the severity of your treatment for RFMN and Clear RF. You can expect redness immediately after your treatment, but the redness starts to fade within minutes to hours. You may have some residual redness the next day.You may have some “grittiness” or sandpaper like texture for a few days to a week afterwards that moisturizing can help with. You will want to avoid direct sun exposure for a week after treatment and will want to wear sunscreen daily.

Exion Face does not have any downtime!

After treatment, a growth factor solution will be applied to your skin. You do not have to wash your face after that. You will want to let the channels in your skin close with the growth factor solution on it. The next day, you can use water to rinse or a gentle cleanser (no active or harsh exfoliants). You can apply gentle serums, moisturizers, and SPF to your skin 24 hours after treatment.

You will want to make sure to sleep on a clean pillowcase and use clean towels for the week after to avoid causing breakouts.

In order to get the best results, we recommend adding on our Biosome solutions to any RFMN or Clear RF treatment. Bisomes are biomimetic, lab-made exosomes. Exosomes can offer several benefits for the skin, particularly in the fields of skin rejuvenation, healing, and anti-aging. Exosomes contain a variety of biologically active molecules such as proteins, lipids, RNAs (like microRNAs), and growth factors that can influence skin cells and promote healing and regeneration. This will significantly reduce any redness you have.

In between treatments, you want to make sure you are using medical grade skincare and sunscreen. We carry the Anteage skincare line that has exosomes and growth factors in every product that we highly recommend using daily for optimal results.

If you come with makeup on, you will wash your face before treatment.

Numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area for 30-45 minutes if you are getting RF Microneedling or Clear RF. Pictures will be taken for your chart. You can expect to feel little to nothing during a RFMN and Clear RF treatment. Some describe the feeling as an “itchy” feeling, or in some areas of the face, a little rubber band snap in areas with less fat.

An Exion Face treatment does not require any numbing since no needles are involved. You will only feel a tolerable amount of heat depending on the strength of your treatment. People have described the sensation as a “hot stone massage.”

Yes! You can layer two or three treatments together! Exion Face is done first, followed by RFMN or Clear RF. Layering treatments together also gets you a discount. RFMN is also a great add on to our Aveli cellulite treatment.
